Our School

Our School

The greatest asset of Paradise High School is its students. We are blessed with sincere and honest students who are motivated to achieve at their highest level. Our mission is to assist them in setting and meeting their goals.

PHS is divided organizationally into 13 subject area departments. The school's master schedule allows students the opportunity to take up to seven classes each day, from 7:26 until 3:11. Currently, students may select from 452 separate classes throughout the instructional day. While PHS continues to offer rigorous courses of instruction in English, mathematics, science and history/social science, we also have an outstanding visual and performing arts program. We have recently strengthened our home economics program and developed an agriculture program.

PHS also offers two satellite programs:

  • College Connection gives senior students the chance to enroll concurrently at PHS and attend courses during the school day at Butte Community College.
  •  University Connection/Teaching Academy allows senior students to attend CSU, Chico for the final high school year while exploring a career in teaching.

Many PHS graduates have distinguished themselves in such fields as medicine, law, finance and education. Approximately 80 percent of our graduating seniors continue their education in a two- or four-year college or a vocational institution. PHS graduates have attended such universities as Cornell, West Point Military Academy, UC Berkeley, Duke, the US Air Force Academy and the US Naval Academy.
